Yard House welcomes the street, then gently retreats into a courtyard of stillness and sun.

A home shaped around a garden and the people who tend it.

Tucked into the leafy quiet of Greenvale, Yard House is a gentle meditation on how domestic life and landscape can move as one. Designed for a young family devoted to slow living, the home wraps itself around a central, open-to-sky courtyard as its living, breathing heart.

Natural light moves freely through the rooms. Barefoot children meander between spaces. Herbs sway in the still afternoon air.

Born out of the lockdowns of 2021, Yard House became both a refuge and a quiet rebellion a return to the long-lost promise of the classic Australian suburban dream. A belief in space, calm, and continuity. That each generation can build something better, something softer.

The home embraces cross-ventilation, local materials, and a deeper emotional sustainability shaping spaces that feel warm, familiar, and deeply lived in. The courtyard anchors it all: a private sanctuary of light and renewal, holding the family close while opening them to the sky.
