At Whitford Way, small gathering spaces and soft transitions invite children and carers to move, pause, and belong, inside, outside, and in the moments between.

A place for early learning, connection, and quiet delight.

Set within a suburban pocket of Frankston, Whitford Way ELC was designed to foster small moments of togetherness between children, carers, families, and the environment around them.

The architecture center's around a series of gathering spaces, not formal or prescriptive, but loose, inviting zones that shift in scale and rhythm. Interiors open subtly into outdoor rooms, creating a sense of continuity without spectacle. These transitions are measured, tactile, and scaled for children’s worlds: low thresholds, warm textures, and corners that feel safe to linger in.

Materials were chosen for their honesty and warmth, helping the building settle gently into its context while offering clarity and softness within. More than a building, it’s a place of early belonging, where care and design meet in the everyday.
